Obama has chosen the first day of the potential default to throw his 50th birthday bash, combining it with raising money for next year’s Barack Obama, Birthday, Debt Ceilingelection. His actual birthday is Aug. 4.

You would expect the liberal blogs to do it. And they did. They took a minor verbal gaffe by Sarah Palin and blew it up in big headlines. But then the MSM started to hit it too. We posted an AP report yesterday that did just that:

Sarah Palin is drawing criticism from around the world after declaring that the United States has to stand with “our North Korean allies.”

Palin’s gaffe, made Wednesday during an interview on Glenn Beck’s syndicated radio show, was quickly corrected by her host. But it drew immediate fire from liberal bloggers, who cited it as an example of the 2008 vice presidential candidate’s lack of foreign policy expertise.

Newspapers in Asia and Europe are repeating the criticism. The Times of India says Palin “did it again,” while London’s Daily Mail says she “may want to brush up on her geography.”

I was incredulous that they believed this to be a story. At the very end they had to begrudgingly acknowledge that it was clearly no big deal:

The conservative U.S. website The Weekly Standard came to Palin’s defense, pointing out that “she correctly identified North Korea as our enemy literally eight seconds before the mix-up.”

But now Palin has responded with a brilliant Facebook post that eviscerates the MSM hypocrisy in play.

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

First word about the injury came in a statement from press secretary Robert Gibbs nearly three hours after the incident saying that Obama was inadvertently struck by someone's elbow. The individual was not identified.

Obama received the stitches under local anesthesia in the doctor's office on the ground floor White House after he returned home. During a reported meeting with black journalists and bloggers, President Obama began speculating about the newswatching habits of black people — and apparently he doesn’t think they get up on Sunday mornings to watch NBC:

As for the mysterious videographer that is apparently giving black people their news. The name tag that flutters in and out of the video seems to be that of someone named “Natas–“ who works with an organization called ”The YBF”:

A quick Google search revealed that YBF is the name of the blog Young, Black, and Fabulous, a site specializing in black celebrity gossip. “THE YBF blasts all that is fabulous and foolywang with over 13 million readers a month joining in on the ish talking,” its website says. “The focus is fashion, fabulousness, gossip, and foolywang.”

“Natas–,” then, could be Natasha Eubanks, YBF’s CEO, editor, and writer:

And continued, "You go to a meeting with him I'm told, businessmen are invited to meet him at the White House, he hauls out the damn teleprompter, and he reads it to them."

Sarah Palin shot back at President Obama today on the issue of nuclear non-proliferation, suggesting Obama didn't have the experience he had criticized Palin for lacking.

The former Alaska governor had criticized the president for adopting a policy of not using nuclear weapons against non-nuclear nations.

Obama dismissed that criticism in an interview with Good Morning America today.

"I really have no response," Obama said. "Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues."

Palin fired back this afternoon in a speech before the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, suggesting Obama didn't have much experience with nuclear policy.

Palin mocked "all of the vast nuclear experience [Obama] acquired as a community organizer, as a part time senator and a full time candidate."

She also swiped at the Obama administration for disrespecting Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

"They treated the Afghan President Hamid Karzai poorly and acted surprised when he responded in kind," she said.

(Reuters) - Iran's president issued a scathing personal attack on U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday, calling him an "inexperienced amateur" who was quick to threaten to use nuclear weapons against U.S. enemies.

Commenting on new U.S. policy restrictions on the use of atomic weapons which sent a stern message to nuclear-defiant Iran that it remained a potential target, hard-line Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Obama that Iran would not yield to threats.

"Obama made these latest remarks because he is inexperienced and an amateur politician," Ahmadinejad said on Iranian television. "American politicians are like cowboys. Whenever they have legal shortcomings, their hands go to their guns."

Obama made a diplomatic overture to Tehran soon after taking office in 2009, urging it to "unclench its fist."

But since then a confrontation has intensified over Iran's nuclear activities which the West suspects are aimed at developing an atomic bomb and Tehran says are for civilian use.

Obama is urging U.N. Security Council members to back new sanctions against Iran.

His changes to U.S. weapons policy were announced before a nuclear summit in Washington next week. He renounced the development of new atomic weapons and ruled out the use of nuclear arms against non-nuclear armed states. READ MORE...
