Home Depot Co-Founder Blasts Obama: Even ‘Brain-Dead Economists’ Get It

First it was Steve Wynn, head of the famed Wynn resort empire, speaking out against Obama. Now its Bernie Marcus, co-founder of The Home Depot.

In an interview with Investor’s Business Daily (IBD), Marcus blasted Obama and his policies, saying “even brain-dead economists understand that when you raise taxes, you cost jobs.”

That’s some tough talk. But really, it’s only the beginning:

Just yesterday, Wynn Resorts (WYNN) CEO Steve Wynn was speaking on a company conference call when he unleashed on President Obama, ranting about what Wynn sees as anti-business, socialist policies that are frightening companies as well as customers.

This not the first time that Mr. Wynn has spoken so bluntly about the administration and his feelings about policies that are holding back the recovery. In April, Wynn was on Fox News with Neil Cavuto and talked about “the gross irresponsibility of the government”:

Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.

"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."

Remember the President Bush ‘Mission Accomplished’ controversy? The culprit was a banner on the USS Abraham Lincoln positioned above President Bush, which was meant to signify that that particular aircraft had in fact accomplished their mission.

President Bush still hasn’t lived this one down. The left went ballistic, claiming he was prematurely proclaiming an end to the war and sending a horrible message. Well, they should have listened to the speech, because he never said ‘mission accomplished’ and only used the word ‘mission’ two times. Here’s one of them:

“Our mission continues. Al Qaeda is wounded, not destroyed. The scattered cells of the terrorist network still operate in many nations, and we know from daily intelligence that they continue to plot against free people. The proliferation of deadly weapons remains a serious danger. The enemies of freedom are not idle, and neither are we.”

Kinda sounds exactly the opposite of mission accomplished, no? The left chose to distort the actual message in order to smear the President and the media followed suit. A few months after Time declared ‘Mission not Accomplished’, in 2006 CNN touted polls showing people thought the mission was ‘not’ accomplished, and Keith Olbermann mentioned it almost every single day on MSNBC.

Perhaps not shockingly the media has gone way out of their way to ignore what should be the most damaging sound bite in political history. And here it is:

Trump: Obama's a 'Foolish Man'

Billionaire and potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump says countries take advantage of the United States, because some in the U.S. government are “either stupid, foolish, or very heavily lobbied.” In an interview Monday with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, Trump said although President Barack Obama is not stupid, “he could be foolish” and “he is certainly heavily lobbied.”

“You go to China, you see these cities rising out of nothing. Of course, it is worldwide money, but it is really this country's money [that] is rebuilding China,” Trump said. “We have either stupid, foolish, or very heavily lobbied people that allows China” to grow, while U.S. infrastructure is crumbling.

Van Susteren asked whether Obama was one of those “people” and is he any different than other presidents.

“He's not a stupid man. He could be a foolish man. And he certainly is heavily lobbied,” Trump replied. “Look, I was never a big fan of a lot of presidents. I've seen them come and go. I've seen a lot of them. The one I liked was Ronald Reagan – he didn't play games.

“When Iran had hostages, Jimmy Carter was defenseless – it was pathetic. It was a sad, bad time for this country. Ronald Reagan got in and said they won't be there for one day,” Trump added. “All of a sudden they were released, gone, and he got them back.”

When asked whether he was impressed by any of the potential GOP 2012 presidential candidates, Trump, who has said he will announce his presidential plans by June, replied: “Look, I know many of them. And they are nice people."

“But can they do the job? Perhaps not.”

KUHNER: Obama is no centrist. President’s appearances are deceiving...

President Obama is trying to reposition himself as a moderate. His State of the Union address was aimed at convincing the public that he is serious about fiscal responsibility and reining in out-of-control budget deficits. His public relations offensive boils down to one seminal theme: Socialism is out; centrism is in.

Hence, Mr. Obama called for a freeze on discretionary spending affecting numerous domestic agencies. He wants to work with Republicans to "fix" his health care overhaul - to reform it, not repeal it. He has a newfound opposition to earmarks. He is a champion of bipartisan consensus building.

Don't buy it. The address was an obvious attempt to con the electorate into forgetting not only the past two years, but Mr. Obama's real agenda: the transformation of America into a social democratic state. His "spending freeze" is nothing more than smoke and mirrors - a clumsy attempt to look serious about the looming debt crisis. His "freeze" would not only lock in the record-high levels of spending implemented by the administration, it would fail to make any dent in runaway entitlements and other costly programs - which are the real threats to our national solvency.

Mr. Obama is a fantasist. His demands for a spending freeze are akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The American economy is about to crash upon the rocks of fiscal reality. The day after his address, the Congressional Budget Office released the estimate for this year's budget deficit: $1.5 trillion. This is the largest deficit in U.S. history, and it comes on top of Mr. Obama's previous trillion-dollar blowouts. He is burying America under a mountain of red ink. He is not only fiscally reckless, but morally bankrupt. His spend-and-borrow policies are mortgaging future generations - saddling them with a massive debt that will be almost impossible to repay.

Under Mr. Obama's watch, America is being reduced to a second-class nation. Our trade deficits are huge. The dollar is plummeting. Investment capital and businesses are fleeing. The economy remains stagnant. Unemployment is high. Power and wealth are slowly shifting toward the East - especially China.

It is no accident that Mr. Obama deliberately singled out Beijing for praise in his address, welcoming the rise of the communist giant. As America amasses more debt, the Chinese are buying up our Treasury bonds. China is financing our orgy of deficit spending. The result: Washington is becoming an economic vassal of Beijing. Mr. Obama - slowly but surely - is undermining U.S. national sovereignty, making America increasingly dependent upon Chinese largesse. This is the ultimate price for becoming the world's largest debtor nation. We no longer control our own destiny. Uncle Sam now bows to the Red Dragon.

None of this matters to Mr. Obama. At his core, he is a radical leftist who seeks to dismantle capitalism and the achievements of the Reagan revolution - low taxes, deregulation and the reassertion of American exceptionalism.

In fact, like most ideologues, Mr. Obama is quite open about his intentions. Despite forging a popular tax deal with Republicans, the president in his speech returned to the cardinal principle of the progressive left: class warfare. He vowed that the Bush tax cuts would not be extended permanently, saying the only way to curtail skyrocketing deficits effectively is to raise taxes on "the wealthy" - those making more than $200,000 a year.

The Democratic strategy has been to erect a bloated Franco-German entitlement state, which is marked by high spending and burdensome regulatory oversight, in order to compel huge tax increases. Obamacare, the stimulus package, the massive expansion of government power - all of this has led to runaway deficits and a fiscal reckoning. Mr. Obama understands that European-style spending inevitably results in European-style taxation. He is the consummate anti-Reagan.

Yet he shares one key similarity with Reagan: the nature of his political enemies. Reagan's good fortune was to be constantly underestimated by his liberal critics. Mr. Obama is enjoying a similar fate. Conservatives keep writing him off - and he keeps coming back.

He has not only consolidated his welfare liberalism in the face of popular resistance, he has outmaneuvered his GOP rivals at almost every turn. Despite being trounced in the Nov. 2 elections, Mr. Obama has effectively neu- tered the Republicans. He coerced them into agreeing to a tax deal that amounts to a second stimulus - a vast package of tax cut extensions and unemployment benefits that will kick-start the economy in time for his re-election campaign. He has achieved his top social policy objective: repealing "don't ask, don't tell," which prohibited gays from openly serving in the military. It is a cultural watershed. The homosexual movement has toppled society's last great conservative institution - the armed forces. He has managed to get the New START treaty passed, which essentially prevents America from developing a viable missile defense system. And all of this was done with GOP collusion.

Mr. Obama is a Machiavellian socialist taking a page from the playbook of his hero, Franklin D. Roosevelt. The New Deal failed to revive the economy and led to huge deficits. Yet FDR kept getting re-elected because he used government handouts to buy votes and bribe electoral constituencies. Call it interest-group politics through state-sanctioned corruption. Mr. Obama is following the same model. He is cynically buying off key voting blocs - public-sector unions, blacks, Hispanics, feminists, homosexuals, students, upper-class white liberals and environmentalists.

Mr. Obama is the very opposite of a pragmatic centrist. He is seeking to finish the ambitious liberal project begun by FDR. Republicans were unable to stop FDR then. And they are increasingly unable to stop Mr. Obama today. Conservatives, beware.

Swiss Investor: ‘Foreigners Laugh’ as 'Dishonest' Obama ‘Prostitutes Himself.' 'I think he’s done a horrible job & I think that will continue'

A scathing assessment delivered Tuesday from outspoken investment analyst, entrepreneur and author of “The Gloom Boom & Doom Report” had people talking Wednesday after Marc Faber criticized President Barack Obama for being “intellectually dishonest.”

”I think he’s done a horrible job and I think that will continue,” Faber told Bloomberg. “I think he is a dishonest person, and nothing has changed… Some politicians are more honest than others. I don’t think that I have a very high regard for politicians, I have a high regard for businessmen and for people who work, and not for people who abuse the system continuously. And in comparison to other politicians, I think he came in on a platform as a president that would want to change the government in Washington, and actually he’s made it worse.”

Faber, who has correctly predicted a number of economic downturns in the past, went on to differentiate between Obama and his predecessor, former President George W. Bush. “We foreigners, we just laugh at someone like Mr. Obama. I was very critical of Mr. Bush, but at least he had one line and he stuck to that line, and at least he set out to do a thing and he was relatively straight on that thing that he did. He may have been wrong and I criticized him very frequently, but at least he didn’t change his mind continuously, and didn’t prostitute himself.”

When asked what he believes would be a better economic policy, Faber stated that the U.S. president needs to “tell the U.S. you have to tighten your belts.”

“We have to go through hard times for five years to repair the damage that was committed over 20-25 years by the Federal Reserve, by the Treasury, by the politicians, and somebody has to tell the truth,” he said. “But the politicians keep on fueling the illusion that you can spend yourself out of the misery, and that by printing money you will improve the economy, which is not the case.”

Trump Blasts Obama’s China Love During SOTU

China is not a friend of the US and should not have been praised during President Obama’s State of the Union speech Tuesday.

That’s how CNBC paraphrased Donald Trump’s reaction to the State of the Union speech. In addition to calling the remarks “mostly talk,” Trump launched into an impassioned diatribe about the president heaping praise on the communist country.

“Interestingly, he was talking about how great China is … [but] it’s supposed to be a speech about us,” he said. “And China’s been hurting this country and hurting it very badly.”

“I thought the low point was when he talked about how great China was,“ Trump added ”To me that was inappropriate to have in this speech, especially in light of what has happened with China.”

He even went as far as to say China is “not a friend of this country”:

Trump realizes it could be seen as odd to be upset with China when he himself does business with the country. But he said he has “no choice” but to buy certain products from the country, and if China adhered to fair trade principles, he wouldn’t have as much of a problem.

Does it sound like he’s hoping to one day give his own SOTU speech?
