Limbaugh: Obama ‘Insulting Us Like Never Before’ With ‘Lie’ About Social Security Checks

Rush Limbaugh could barely contain his disgust for the words coming out of President Obama’s mouth during his interview with CBS’ Scott Pelley. In addition to Rush wincing as he heard the sound of Obama’s voice, he also targets Pelley for lobbing unbelievably softball questions.

Rush played an exchange between Pelley and Obama, with Pelley asking “Can you guarantee as President [Social Security] checks will go out” if the debt ceiling is not raised, and Obama responding that, no, he could not guarantee it. Rush had his own view:

“That’s an out and out lie. And if I didn’t know better, I would say the White House gave Scott Pelley a script. . . . This is an outrage here because this is not true. And this is – my God, it is the playbook. Hold senior citizens and military people hostage!” READ MORE...

Obama Threatens to Withhold Social Security Checks from Seniors and Vets

President Barack Obama raised the stakes in the third straight day of budget talks on Tuesday by warning that senior citizens and veterans may suffer first if the debt ceiling is not raised by August 2.

The president said in an interview with U.S. television network CBS that checks to recipients of the Social Security retirement program may not go out in early August if he and congressional leaders do not agree on a debt deal.

"I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue," Obama said. "Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Obama said. He said veterans checks and disability benefits could also be affected without a deal.

Print Pool reporters (a small, pre-approved group of newspaper journalists that simultaneously feed their coverage to all outlets) are in attendance.

The White House bans the reporter from future pool coverage, threatens to ban affiliated reporters if the ban is exposed

House Republican Utters Impeachment

Rep. Trent Franks Calls For Impeaching Obama If He Doesn’t Reverse Course On The Defense Of Marriage Act

Last year, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) hinted at impeaching the president over the issue of immigration, saying that Obama was "awfully close" to violating his oath of office. Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) followed up by threatening impeachment proceedings against Obama because of the phantom "birth certificate" issue.

Now, in the right's furor over the administration's announcement that it will not defend the constitutionality of Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) is calling for Obama to be impeached.


After the Arizona Republican advocated defunding the Department of Justice if it does not defend Section 3 of DOMA - "I would support that in a moment," remarked Franks - he went on to say that he would "absolutely" favor impeaching President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder if such a move "could gain collective support": READ MORE...

LYING ARROGANT DICTATOR: Defense of Marriage Out, Phony Constitutional Concern In...

Wednesday afternoon, Barack Obama trotted out his favorite “document of negative rights,” The U.S. Constitution, and used it to chart a course that will do away with the Defense of Marriage Act. According to the President, the act signed by Bill Clinton is unconstitutional, and he’s ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to stop defending it in court cases. Holder has agreed and will cease defense of the law, which states marriage is between a man and a woman.


There’s so much wrong with this, it’s hard to know where to start.

First and foremost, the President has no right to declare something unconstitutional. You don’t have to be a “community organizer” turned “constitutional scholar” to know this. Heck, anyone who’s seen even five minutes of Schoolhouse Rock is probably aware of the three branches of government. The Judiciary branch is responsible for determining constitutionality, not the Executive. Pronouncing the law unconstitutional, without due process, is a gross overextension of Presidential authority.

Second, both the President and the Attorney General have sworn an oath to uphold the nation’s laws. It’s not their place to determine which ones they view as being worthy of defense of implementation. If the Legislative branch chooses to pass a law doing away with the Defense of Marriage act, that’s their prerogative. The President can sign it as he sees fit. Otherwise, Holder is there to enforce and support the laws as they exist, not as his boss wishes they did. In refusing to defend the law as written, both Obama and Holder are willfully derelict in their duties.

Finally, since when is Obama so concerned with Constitutionality?

His signature health care law has been ruled unconstitutional by two separate federal judges, yet he’s proceeding with its implementation. If, as Obama seems to believe, the government should stop the defense of unconstitutional laws, why isn’t he abandoning his dream of an Obamacare utopia? READ MORE...
