Obama’s Nominee to Run Medicare: ‘Please Don’t Put Your Faith in Market Forces’
Dr. Donald Berwick, nominated by President Barack Obama to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the agency that runs Medicare, published an article in the British Medical Journal (BMJ), advising leaders of Britain’s socialized health care system: “Please don’t put your faith in market forces.”
The article, published in the July 26, 2008 issue of the BMJ, compared the U.S. health care system unfavorably to the British system, which Berwick said he was “romantic about.”
The article included a list of 10 suggestions for Britain’s National Health Service (NHS). One of these suggestions was:
“Please don’t put your faith in market forces [emphasis in original]. It’s a popular idea: that Adam Smith’s invisible hand would do a better job of designing care than leaders with plans can. READ MORE...
The people of Bucks County Pa. have finally realized the mistake they made in voting for the Democrat Patrick Murphy over Republican candidate Tom Manion, a Marine and father who lost his Marine son in Iraq. Unlike Patrick Murphy, Tom Manion wouldn't have voted for the health care bill, financial reform bill, cap and trade, bailouts, stimulus etc.. and at a time of economic crisis with soaring unemployment, his major priority wouldn't be trying to abolish the 'don't ask don't tell' policy like Patrick Murphy is doing.
The video below of Murphy supporting the anti-American Barack Obama should easily make him a one term loser.
Isn't it nice to see a veteran insult another 'real' war veteran like John McCain (a fellow democrat by the way) and endorse a corrupt, radical, anti-American compulsive liar. 'Nice job Pat!'
(Barack Obama is an anti-American. We have proved it many times so deal with it.)
Via Gateway Pundit, palate-cleansing fun for the whole family. She specializes in identity studies, naturally enough (gender studies, chicano studies, queer theory, etc.), and so naturally enough, an address to students had to turn into a political harangue. Oh, and naturally enough, she mischaracterized the law:
“The new Arizona law generally known as SB 1070 is considered the strictest anti-immigrant legislation in the country and is explicitly intended to drive undocumented immigrants out of the state. One reason it has instigated a boycott is because to a whole lot of people, myself included, it appears to not only invite but require the police to engage in racial profiling.”
Actually, the statute requires cops not to engage in racial profiling, and I’m not sure why she thinks it’s any more draconian than, say, federal law or various local ordinances that look just like it, but identity studies is all about “narratives,” right? Well, she’s got her narrative and she’s not letting go. And why should she? The demagoguery is paying big dividends for Democrats in Colorado and Arizona so far, with Latino support surging for Michael Bennet and Rodney Glassman. More amnesty bracelets, Pelosi, stat! This will be a major economic disaster. What are Americans thinking when they put people like Frank, Pelosi and Obama in power? This is another form of economic suicide.
(Reuters) - Democratic lawmaker Barney Frank will get the influential position of chairing the committee that will merge the House and Senate's versions of financial reform legislation, a spokesman for Frank said on Monday.
Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, will hold sway as the two chambers try to hammer out major differences in their bills, including rules for derivatives and restrictions on types of trading.
The Senate is expected to name its conferees as soon as Monday, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may not name her chamber's conferees until after Congress returns from its Memorial Day break on June 7.
Frank, the chief architect of the bill in the House, said last week that he believes it will not take more than a month to merge the two bills.

We have some bad news for all of the dirty white liberals out there in the media; MANY BLACK FOLKS REALLY LIKE AND SUPPORT RAND PAUL and his father Ron Paul, so get over it.
ALSO- Some more bad news for white liberals; blacks have over 30 candidates running for congress in the republican party this year and they're running as conservatives! (A white liberals worst nightmare next to YouTube and Michele Bachmann)
Playing the race card is NOT working anymore, but little wussy libbs like Rachael Maddow, George Stephanopoulos and David Gregory are still attempting to attack Rand Paul and make false accusations of racism just like they did to the tea party, and we all know that turned out to be a lie. In fact, it angered so many blacks, it was a great recruiting tool to join a tea party themselves.
REMEMBER- Many white liberal politicians and members of the media believe that most blacks can't think for themselves, as if their idiots because they might not have the academic pedigree of a snotty elitist liberal. Well keep it up libbs...black conservatives are on the rise and hopefully, the white liberals making false racism allegations (and bankrupting America) will soon become a dying breed.
Who knew that Kermit the Frog was this into politics. The campaign of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) has put out a video that features a frog puppet -- that looks much like the famous Sesame Street character -- to help sell the state's controversial immigration law.
The frog encourages opponents to read the immigration law before criticizing it.
Some may scoff, but the law has boosted Brewer in the polls over her Democratic opponent, Terry Goddard
A Democratic senator is introducing legislation for a bailout of troubled union pension funds. If passed, the bill could put another $165 billion in liabilities on the shoulders of American taxpayers.
The bill, which would put the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation behind struggling pensions for union workers, is being introduced by Senator Bob Casey, (D-Pa.), who says it will save jobs and help people.
As FOX Business Network’s Gerri Willis reported Monday, these pensions are in bad shape; as of 2006, well before the market dropped and recession began, only 6% of these funds were doing well.
Although right now taxpayers could possibly be on the hook for $165 billion, the liability could essentially be unlimited because these pensions have to be paid out until the workers die.
It’s hard to say at the moment what the chances are that the bill will pass. A hearing is scheduled Thursday, which will give the public a sense of where political leaders sit on the topic, said Willis.
Just last week President Obama said there would be no more bailouts.
The financial regulatory bill is a “disaster,” and its proposed consumer protection agency would create a Fannie and Freddie “on steroids,” Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H. told CNBC on Monday.
“The bill is a disaster because it doesn’t address the fundamental underlining causes of the economic issue, which were real estate and underwriting,” he said. “This bill became, ‘I want to score the most points against Wall Street.’ Most of the initiative of this bill wasn’t directed at solving the problem, but it was directed at scoring political points.”
Gregg, who sits on the Senate banking, budget and appropriations committees proposed underwriting standards along with Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., yet they were not included in the final bill, he said. READ MORE...
Remember this crybaby Patrick Kennedy? He's a true bum and a liberal sissy.
Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D.-R.I.) said last week that Mexican President Felipe Calderon had been “right on” in criticizing Arizona’s new immigration enforcement law.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) said the state will not waiting for federal approval to begin building sand barriers to protect the coastline from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Oil has pushed at least 12 miles into Louisiana's marshes, with two major pelican rookeries awash in crude.
Gov. Jindal was critical of the amount of boom his state received to ward off the oil seeping toward the coastline. But his major gripe comes at the expense of the Army Corps of Engineers, who have yet to give the go-ahead for the building of sand booms to protect the Louisiana wetlands. He used photographic evidence of oil breaking through hard booms, soft booms and another layer of protection, before being finally being corralled by a sand boom built by the National Guard. DEMOCRATS RIPPING OBAMA'S RESPONSE...
Even the idiot James Carville is ripping the administration..
Dr. Rand Paul was hoping for a “honeymoon” after his thumping victory in the Republican U.S. Senate primary in Kentucky. No such luck. Dr. Paul is a conservative Christian and if he wants a another honeymoon, he needs to talk to his wife.
Instead, what Rand Paul got was a grilling from one end of the chattering class to the other about his supposed opposition to the great Civil Rights Act of 1964. It is a fact that he stumbled in some of his answers to questions about individual titles of that act. Dr. Paul was not alive when the act was debated in front of the whole country in 1964. He needs to bone up on his history.
But the high tech lynching that is taking place now is of a piece with what the liberal media put Clarence Thomas through in 1991. Because Judge Thomas is an original construction jurist, he was seen as a threat by liberal activists. Because Justice Thomas is black, he is vilified by leftists who believe that all minorities must support their left wing causes. READ MORE...
The celebration at Hawaii Republican Party headquarters was barely 15 minutes old as Charles Djou, the GOP's newest darling, had already moved past the historic victory and turned his sights toward the general election in November.

NOTE- Notice Obama and the mainstream media are really silent on this one?
Comedy gold from “Meet the Press,” polished off by DNC Chair Tim Kaine grudgingly admitting that it might be time for the White House to come clean. If you need your memory jogged about this, I don’t blame you: Sestak first dropped the bombshell that the White House tried to bribe him out of the primary against Specter more than three months ago. A month after that, pieces were already appearing about how absurd Gibbs’s stonewalling had become; two months later, he’s still stonewalling, refusing this morning to tell Bob Schieffer anything about it except that nothing “inappropriate” happened. Which is probably true: Handing Sestak a briefcase full of money to get out of the race would be indictment-worthy, but handing him the same cash in the form of a paycheck plus the prestige that comes with the title of Secretary of the Navy is just good ol’ horse-trading. No wonder “Washington” is a curse word. READ MORE...

See video below of Calente on Glenn Beck in 2009...
America better wake up quick...Beck and Calente have been warning Americans for years.
I think I heard during the campaign, or maybe it was the "historic" speech in Cairo, that America is a Muslim nation. Once again attacking the founding of this nation under Christian values. The Christian influence of the Founding fathers has been under attack for over 100 years. The liberals (Progressives if so so prefer) have done everything to get Christianity out of the public arena. Now this week, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and host of other idiots have said that we should preach from the pulpit for immigration reform, and have faith-based communities on board with their agenda. If you look closer, or watch the Glenn Beck program you will know that many of those who are on board with this disaster are being paid-off with your money. (AKA threatened to comply). For liberals to get on TV and preach to me about the meaning of the Gospels and say that Christianity supports Socialism is laughable. It also proves that they have not read the Bible, why would they it is a law of sorts for this country. Lets start with the defintiion of Socialism and build from there. READ MORE...
Let’s recall that it was President George H. W. Bush who first talked about a “new world order,” and in just about the same context — a foreign war in Southwest Asia that had failing popularity. Obama doesn’t go nearly as far as Bush did in exhorting support for international organizations in his speech today at West Point, but he goes far enough to catch the attention of the Washington Post:
President Obama on Saturday pledged to shape a new “international order” as part of a national security strategy that emphasizes his belief in global institutions and America’s role in promoting democratic values around the world.
Speaking to the graduating class at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point — the ninth wartime commencement in a row, he said — the commander in chief who is leading two foreign wars expressed his faith in cooperation and partnerships to confront the economic, military and environmental challenges of the future.
“The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times,’” he said in prepared remarks. “Countering violent extremism and insurgency; stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and securing nuclear materials; combating a changing climate and sustaining global growth; helping countries feed themselves and care for their sick; preventing conflict and healing its wounds.” READ MORE...
Listen to the 'brown nosing' atheist Bill Maher criticize Rand Paul this week on his show because he doesn't have the ability to comprehend why Rand Paul doesn't want the government telling private businesses how to run their business. Stay with us...
Now see video below..
Ron Paul and his son Rand Paul have the same exact views! They're identical on the issues. So in 2007, Bill Maher was sweating Ron Paul's nuts and now all of the sudden, Maher is against his son Rand. We wonder why? Hmmm....
Can you say 'TEA PARTY?'
The tea party was not around back when Maher was slobbering all over Ron Paul and now that his son is supporting the tea party and the tea party is supporting Paul, Bill Maher has suddenly changed his mind. Bill Maher and other weak-minded liberals have been brainwashed that the tea partiers are a bunch of white people, republicans and racists. Keep in mind that Bill Maher has to make fun of white people and attack republicans because that's his talent. He can't defeat a conservative in a debate and he feels the need to insult white people to suck up to blacks (who just laugh at him behind his back).
Bill Maher is a white sissy and a spineless hypocrite. He practically gave 'rubber brother' and professor Michael Eric Dyson a blow job under the table on his show this week.
'Please mister Dyson, please mister black man, please like me. I don't like Rand Paul. In fact, I hate all white people too professor, just like you. I'm not down with them, I want to be your friend.'
How pathetic. But that's what Bill Maher does.
Michael Eric Dyson is a radical-socialist-racist AND a professor. He's also a master con artist from the suburbs of Detroit who believes that Tupac Shakur is similar to Martin Luther King. (The conservative MLK)
Dyson is a phony preacher rapper who 'affirmative actioned' his way into Ivy League schools. He can't even bring himself to admit that his own brother is guilty for the brutal murder he committed and is now serving a life sentence for. He still feels guilt over his brother being in prison because he's a 'lighter skinned' black man than his brother. As if that made his brother take another mans life. Huh-what?!? And this guy has been educating dweebs at Georgetown, Brown, Columbia, UNC and UPENN; scary huh?
Dyson has the 'it's all the white mans fault' attitude. What a credible person to have on your panel (or in your classroom) next to 'Real Time' regulars, Elliot Spitzer, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters and Cornel West. One reason we're giving 'Real Time With Bill Maher' the award for the dumbest audience on the planet. (Next to any members in the audience of 'The View' who applaud after Joy Behar opens her fat mouth)
Bill Maher thinks that because Rand Paul is against the government interference in private businesses (so are we) that he's a racist because IF a business chooses to serve whites only, they have that right. (Black businesses also have the right to refuse white people or gays, but he never mentioned that example.)
It's 2010, if some idiot were to do that, he wouldn't be in business too long. Here's a more realistic example. What if you don't want to serve a convicted child sex offender at your ice cream parlor or restaurant? Do you want him suing because federal law says you have to serve him, or do you want to be able to make your own decision on whether you should serve him or not? We like Rand Paul's view on this. The idea that Rand Paul is for not serving blacks at restaurants is ridiculous and it's just another typical played out trick by the scumbag left.
Maher also believes that Rand Paul is against the disabilities act just because he believes that the government shouldn't be ordering a private business to install several handicap ramps, ten handicap parking spaces and a $100,000 elevator. Rand Paul believes that private business should make their own decisions. EXAMPLE- Put the handicap employee in a first floor office, give them a handicap spot and a ramp as needed. COMMON SENSE RIGHT? If the government interferes, you have no business!
Bill Maher is a true 'teabagger.' The tea party doesn't want Bill Maher, but Maher does agree with some of the tea party movement, but he can't admit it. To do so, he would have to admit to agreeing with Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman and republicans on some issues. If he does that, he's also out of business because his audience of retarded progressive zombies would abandon him.
SAVAGES: These people are animals. The tea party doesn't storm private homes. These purple turds are democrats and they're not the most educated thugs on the block. They should start looking into how the housing market was able to collapse, who fueled the collapse, who ignored the warnings of the collapse, and finally, who is in bed with the very same bank they're protesting.
IT'S THE DEMOCRATS STUPID.... (Dodd, Frank, Obama)
Big Journalism has been all over this, including the odd detail that D.C. cops evidently escorted the Purple People-Beaters to the Bank of America executive’s home in Rockville, Maryland. Fox News regular Nina Easton was on the scene, with good reason: She lives right next door. Quote:
Last Sunday, on a peaceful, sun-crisp afternoon, our toddler finally napping upstairs, my front yard exploded with 500 screaming, placard-waving strangers on a mission to intimidate my neighbor, Greg Baer. Baer is deputy general counsel for corporate law at Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500), a senior executive based in Washington, D.C. And that — in the minds of the organizers at the politically influential Service Employees International Union and a Chicago outfit called National Political Action — makes his family fair game.
Waving signs denouncing bank “greed,” hordes of invaders poured out of 14 school buses, up Baer’s steps, and onto his front porch. As bullhorns rattled with stories of debtor calls and foreclosed homes, Baer’s teenage son Jack — alone in the house — locked himself in the bathroom. “When are they going to leave?” Jack pleaded when I called to check on him…
Now this event would accurately be called a “protest” if it were taking place at, say, a bank or the U.S. Capitol. But when hundreds of loud and angry strangers are descending on your family, your children, and your home, a more apt description of this assemblage would be “mob.” Intimidation was the whole point of this exercise, and it worked-even on the police. A trio of officers who belatedly answered our calls confessed a fear that arrests might “incite” these trespassers. READ MORE...
