Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says communities have a right to ban Islamic mosques.

Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," the former Godfather's Pizza CEO said protests and legal challenges to a planned mosque in a Tennessee city are an example of local residents pushing back.

Cain said opponents of the planned mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn., are "objecting to the fact that Islam is both religion and (a) set of laws, Shariah law. That's the difference between any one of our other traditional religions where it's just about religious purposes." READ MORE...

19-Year-Old Muslim Girl Allegedly Stoned to Death for Strutting in Beauty Contest

19-year-old Katya Koren is an attractive, young Muslim girl from Ukraine.

Recently, she decided to participate in a local beauty contest. She placed seventh. But her passion for fashion may have led to her death. Shortly after the pageant, Koren went missing. Now, a young man has apparently admitted to police that he killed Koren under Shariah Law.

The Daily Mail reports she was stoned to death:

Her battered body was buried in a forest and was found a week after she disappeared.

Police have opened a murder investigation and are looking into claims that three Muslim youths killed her, claiming her death was justified under Islam.

One of the three – named as 16-year-old Bihal Gaziev – is under arrest and told police that Katya had ‘violated the laws of Sharia’. Gaziev has said he has no regrets about her death.

Here's a telling nugget from an AP story on the death of Osama (thanks to Bryan Preston):

Officials said the U.S. would ensure that bin Laden's body was handled in accordance with Islamic tradition.

But why? After all, didn't Barack Obama say this tonight?

"We must also reaffirm that the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader. He was a mass murderer of Muslims."

So why is the body of a mass murderer of Muslims being handled in accordance with Islamic tradition? Aren't U.S. officials thereby tacitly acknowledging that bin Laden was a Muslim leader, notwithstanding Barack Obama's protestations to the contrary?

And if Osama was indeed a Muslim leader, what are the implications of that for U.S. policy?

There's a question no one in official Washington will dare to answer.

Holder Sues So Muslim Teacher Can Make a Pilgrimage to Mecca

Critics of a U.S. Justice Department lawsuit on behalf of a Muslim teacher in Illinois say it is politically motivated.

Government lawyers filed the religious discrimination suit in December on behalf of Safoorah Khan, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Khan quit her job in Berkeley, a suburb of Chicago, when she was refused time off to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.

Critics say Khan was requesting a three-week absence, well beyond the usual accommodation to employees' religion, and the Justice Department should not have become involved. Bill Maher to 'Pretend' Muslim Rep. Keith Ellison: Koran Is a ‘Hate-Filled Holy Book’

The emotion shown by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) at Rep. Peter King’s (R-NY) Muslim radicalization hearings garnered much attention, and we have a feeling Ellison’s appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight will get its share of play as well. Maher and Ellison had an interesting conversation about Islam (Ellison converted in college) – but perhaps most interesting were the harsh words Maher had for the radical element of Islam…an opinion he had no problem sharing to Ellison’s face (or the screen it was on, anyway).

Maher went off on radical Islam, deeming “the threat, potentially, from radicalized Muslims…a unique and greater threat” – one, he said, that’s in its “medieval era.” In addition, he cited “trying to get nuclear weapons” and a “culture of suicide bombing.”

But that paled next to Maher’s criticism of the Qur’an, which he called a “hate-filled holy book…which is taken very literally” by radical Islamic terrorists.

NOTE- We still can't put Bill Maher under our 'smart celebrity' category because he is still an idiot. He might of got this one right about the Qur'an, but his 'right-wing' and 'KKK' comparisons are ridiculous. Has anyone even seen the KKK in the last 10 years? Militias aren't terrorists. Tim McVeigh was the ONE terrorist who was anti-government and just happened to be a Christian, as are most Americans. McVeigh didn't blow up a building for religious reasons.

Maher also fails to mention that all of recent acts of violence in America were committed by leftists.

Ellison became emotional while relaying the story of a young New York City Muslim man, who was also a first responder, who died on 9/11. The point of Ellison’s story was that there are Muslims who are not radical and are patriotic — a point with which many will not disagree:

Then afterwards, let's here from the family members of the Army recruiters in Little Rock who were killed by Abdulhakim Mujahid, formerly Carlos Leon Bledsoe after he converted to the Muslim faith.

RADICAL ISLAM is right here in America and we need to stop it. Deal with it...

We knew that today’s Islamic radicalization hearing on Capitol Hill would probably carry with it some fireworks. They just started.

During the testimony of Los Angeles County Sheriff Leroy Baca, who’s testimony was widely praised by the Democrats on the committee who opposed the hearings in the first place, fiery Dem. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee asked Baca a passionate question about his deputies’ outreach to minority groups. When Baca mentioned that he had a Muslim officer accompanying him, Lee began clapping. That drew a stern reprimand from Rep. Peter King, chairman of the committee, which then started a back-and-forth between the two politicians which included them shouting over each other.

The money quote of the whole thing? The witness who, after the exchange, took a jab at Lee by saying, “That’s quite an act to follow:”

NOTE- We call Sheila Jackson Lee the 'dumbest' CBC member because she has earned it. We call her 'Hurricane LaQuita' because she really believes the naming of hurricanes are racist because they don't have enough black names. We're not kidding...
