LYING ARROGANT DICTATOR: Defense of Marriage Out, Phony Constitutional Concern In...

Wednesday afternoon, Barack Obama trotted out his favorite “document of negative rights,” The U.S. Constitution, and used it to chart a course that will do away with the Defense of Marriage Act. According to the President, the act signed by Bill Clinton is unconstitutional, and he’s ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to stop defending it in court cases. Holder has agreed and will cease defense of the law, which states marriage is between a man and a woman.


There’s so much wrong with this, it’s hard to know where to start.

First and foremost, the President has no right to declare something unconstitutional. You don’t have to be a “community organizer” turned “constitutional scholar” to know this. Heck, anyone who’s seen even five minutes of Schoolhouse Rock is probably aware of the three branches of government. The Judiciary branch is responsible for determining constitutionality, not the Executive. Pronouncing the law unconstitutional, without due process, is a gross overextension of Presidential authority.

Second, both the President and the Attorney General have sworn an oath to uphold the nation’s laws. It’s not their place to determine which ones they view as being worthy of defense of implementation. If the Legislative branch chooses to pass a law doing away with the Defense of Marriage act, that’s their prerogative. The President can sign it as he sees fit. Otherwise, Holder is there to enforce and support the laws as they exist, not as his boss wishes they did. In refusing to defend the law as written, both Obama and Holder are willfully derelict in their duties.

Finally, since when is Obama so concerned with Constitutionality?

His signature health care law has been ruled unconstitutional by two separate federal judges, yet he’s proceeding with its implementation. If, as Obama seems to believe, the government should stop the defense of unconstitutional laws, why isn’t he abandoning his dream of an Obamacare utopia? READ MORE...

Chicago, IL — A group of Chicago-area ministers and political leaders will hold a press conference on Monday -- the national Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday -- denouncing any connection between civil rights and gay rights.

"The recent passage of the 'civil unions' bill has been trumpeted by some lawmakers as an achievement to civil rights. It is not," the anti-gay Illinois Family Institute (IFI) said in a press release.

IFI and the Catholic Conference of Illinois lobbied hard to block the passage of the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act (SB 1716) in Illinois, which passed on Dec. 1, 2010.

The event organized by IFI is being held Monday, Jan. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Freedom Baptist Church in Hillside, a western suburb of Chicago.


"For years, homosexual activists have exploited an absurd and offensive analogy between homosexuality and race in order to advance their moral and political agenda," the group said in a press release. "Homosexualists use the heroic battle to end racial discrimination as a Trojan Horse to eradicate moral judgments about homosexual conduct. COMING OUT TO PARTY: Ann Coulter to headline 'Homocon' party for gay conservatives next month in New York City

GOProud, a Washington-based group that represents gay conservatives, announced Friday that feisty right-wing pundit Ann Coulter would keynote the organization’s upcoming “Homocon” fundraiser party.

“I’m so tickled that she agreed to do it,” Jimmy LaSalvia, executive director of GOProud told The Daily Caller. “Think about it: She’s hilarious, she’s provocative and, honestly, our folks just love her.”

LaSalvia said Coulter was the only person the group asked to headline the party, and she immediately agreed.

“Of course I’ll do it,” Coulter wrote to GOProud when they asked her to join the event. “I’m the right-wing Judy Garland!”

GOProud used that quip to advertise the event, adding, “our gays are more macho than their straights!” which Coulter wrote in a 2005 article comparing liberals and conservatives.

Coulter took criticism from gay rights advocates in 2007, when she used an anti-gay slur in reference to then-presidential candidate John Edwards. When asked about Coulter’s past comments, LaSalvia said that he would not give in to political correctness.

“This party is about fun. It’s not about placating to the PC crowd,” he said. “Listen, the no-fun police do enough in this world and we want to have a fun party.”

While on active duty, I received good health care. It wasn't as good as the private sector, obviously, but it was better than nothing and it was FREE. My housing was FREE. I was taught a trade for free. All my meals were FREE and I was GIVEN 800.00 a month pay which was just fine with me considering I grew up in New York and New Jersey with a single mother who was on welfare and food stamps. Shit, I just got a raise! Going into the Unites States Marine Corps (a word that Maher's President can't pronounce) was the best decision I've ever made. VOLUNTARILY joining the military is about serving proudly, having discipline, loyalty, honor, pride and respect. No 'fake-patriotism' here Bill Maher. Again, Bill Maher would NEVER understand that.

When I was discharged and had to go to the VA hospital, it was a lot different than the health care I have today. The health care was nowhere near that of a non-government facility. Some VA hospitals are a zoo and a 'clusterf**k,' as we say in the military when something is a mess or isn't organized. I went to three VA hospitals and I've never been to a VA hospital since. I'm glad they have VA health care for our veterans, but it should be the BEST health care. Let Sean Penn, Bill Maher, Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin and Nancy Pelosi use the VA. (Sorry, no botox.)

My father lived in a rural area in the south and was also a veteran who used the VA hospital, but he passed away before I had the chance to ask him if he thought it was decent health care. In rural areas, the VA might be better than the VA in the Bronx, Philadelphia or Chicago.
