President Obama's faith adviser, Eboo Patel, blasted what he called the "myths" of America – describing them as beliefs that the country is "a land of freedom and equality and justice."
Patel explained how he used the "faith-based movement" to channel his rage at America "in a direction far more compassionate and far more merciful."
Patel, a Muslim activist from Chicago, further implied that had he grown up in the 1960s, he may have joined the Weather Underground terrorist group led by William Ayers.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says congressional lawmakers are discussing taking some action in response to the Koran burnings of a Tennessee pastor that led to killings at the U.N. facility in Afghanistan and sparked protests across the Middle East, Politico reports.
“Ten to 20 people have been killed,” Reid said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “We’ll take a look at this of course. As to whether we need hearings or not, I don’t know.”
Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones’ Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war,” Graham told CBS’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation” Sunday.
“During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy,” Graham said, adding certain speech can “put our troops at risk.”
The OIC, CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Muslims around the world are salivating at the possibility that burning a Koran or speaking critically of Islam is on the verge of become a crime in the U.S. – unless Americans stand up and fight for our very survival.

Critics of a U.S. Justice Department lawsuit on behalf of a Muslim teacher in Illinois say it is politically motivated.
Government lawyers filed the religious discrimination suit in December on behalf of Safoorah Khan, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Khan quit her job in Berkeley, a suburb of Chicago, when she was refused time off to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.
Critics say Khan was requesting a three-week absence, well beyond the usual accommodation to employees' religion, and the Justice Department should not have become involved. Businessman Herman Cain, a possible Republican presidential candidate in 2012, has criticized Barack Obama for disregarding America's Christian heritage, stating he believes the president's repeated omission of the phrase "endowed by their Creator" is "intentional."
"I have been able to get the pulse of the American people of not only what's in their head but what's in their heart," Cain told CBN News Correspondent David Brody in an interview. "What's in their heart is they love this country. They love the values upon which this country was founded, and they don't like it when the president omits 'endowed by their Creator' from reciting the Declaration of Independence."
Brody asked Cain, "Do you believe that was intentional by the president?"

Appearing yesterday with Greta Van Susteren, Cain discussed what people should look for in a new president (not surprisingly, it sounded a lot like himself) and also took a shot at Barack Obama. Cain’s jab focused on Obama omitting “on purpose”* the word “Creator” during past recitations of the Declaration of Independence. He went on to extol the Founders, saying they “got it right.”

Some middle school students’ parents were shocked this week when they found out that two schools in their Mansfield, TX school district will soon be requiring Arabic language and culture courses. It’s a decision those parents say was sprung on them:

The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education.
As part of the five-year $1.3 Million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.
Parents at Cross Timbers say they were caught off-guard by the program, and were surprised the district only told them about it in a meeting Monday night between parents and Mansfield ISD Superintendent Bob Morrison.

During Monday’s meeting Morrison stressed the curriculum would not be about religion, but about Arabic language and culture, similar to Spanish curriculum already in place in the district.
