Nicholas Ballasy has caught White House Science Czar John Holdren in a candid moment before, but Holdren wasn’t going to make the same mistake twice.
Ballasy, a correspondent for CNS News, approached Holdren earlier this month and recorded him admitting that his plan to “de-develop“ the United States involves using the ”free market economy.” That comment drew the ire of Conservatives.
So when Ballasy approached Holdren on Tuesday, the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy took a much different approach: he avoids, and even appears to push, Ballasy, refusing to answer any questions about his claim that redistribution of wealth is “absolutely essential if a decent life is to be provided for every human being.”

Holdren explained what he meant when he wrote in his 1973 book Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions that “A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States.”
In that book, co-authored with Paul and Anne H. Ehrlich, Holdren also calls wealth redistribution (both within and among nations) “absolutely essential” in order to provide a decent life for everyone.

In 2008, while at Harvard Law School, Sunstein co-wrote a truly pernicious paper proposing that the U.S. Government employ teams of covert agents and pseudo-"independent" advocates to "cognitively infiltrate" online groups and websites -- as well as other activist groups -- which advocate views that Sunstein deems "false conspiracy theories" about the Government. The paper discussed needs to be read to be believed. Here is a short, telling sample: "Government can partially circumvent these problems if it enlists nongovernmental officials in the effort to rebut the theories." If that isn't pure Stalinism, it's hard to know what would qualify.
Keep in mind as you read it, that Cass Sunstein is not just some obscure, off-the-wall academic. He is one of the most respected legal academics in the country and the head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.

missmarie- The federal government needs to back away from our children and our schools. Period. We the people need to advocate that control over curriculum and extra-curricular activities returns to the local level. We spend our time and energy focused on this issue or that issue, which pits one group against the other, and that is exactly what they hope the little people busy themselves with so the big picture is not revealed. The more urgent and pressing issue is why we continue to fund the Department of Education. This agency has done nothing to improve the educational opportunities for our children and rather than elevating the school system to the higher standards, has, in reality, lowered the standards in all so that mediocrity is the new normal. It is yet another government landfill that is gobbling up our tax dollars and giving us nothing in return. We also need to get rid of all the Czars, this one is particularly offensive and has just moved up the list on my letter writing campaign.

Contrary to press reports that he would not be compensated, uncovered Treasury Department documents reveal President Obama's pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, received a $120,830 annual salary.
The documents were obtained by the public interest group Judicial Watch in a Freedom of Information Act request filed July 20.
Feinberg served as "special master for TARP executive compensation" to establish executive compensation levels at companies bailed out by the federal government.
When Obama appointed Feinberg in August 2009, media reported the Washington lawyer would perform his duties "pro bono," or without pay.
Feinberg is founder and managing partner of the Washington, D.C., firm Feinberg Rozen LLP.
Judicial Watch noted Reuters reported at the time that Feinberg "is receiving no compensation for his role."
