AZ Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Shot in Head at Event: 5 Dead, Including Child and Fed Judge UPDATE- Report: Giffords‘ Gunman ’Left Wing, Quite Liberal’

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords (D-AZ) was shot in the head outside a grocery store in Tucson while holding a public event Saturday morning. Numerous national news outlets reported earlier she had died, but a doctor said during a press conference Saturday afternoon that she is alive and he expects her to live after undergoing surgery. The most updated reports say 18 people were injured, while five have died, including a 9-year-old girl died.

“I’m very optimistic about her recovery.” Dr. Peter Rhee said at an afternoon news conference at University Medical Center in Tucson. “She was shot one time in the head through and through,”

According to the Arizona Republic, the bullet entered one side of her head and exited the other after passing through her brain, Rhee said.

UPDATE- Report: Giffords‘ Gunman ’Left Wing, Quite Liberal’

Report: Giffords‘ Gunman ’Left Wing, Quite Liberal’

According to Business Insider, a woman claiming to have been a classmate of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords‘ alleged shooter Jared Loughner says he has run into the Congresswoman once before and that he’s “left wing” and “quite liberal.” That comes as some on the left are trying to paint Loughner as one who succumbed to angry, Tea Party rhetoric.

Business Insider says Laughner’s classmate made the revelations about his political persuasions via her Twitter account:

But when news of the shooting broke, some conservatives, especially Tea Party officials, expressed concern that the left might try to label that gunman as a radical right-winger.

While Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips condemned the attack on Giffords, he told The Hill was concerned the Tea Party movement would be blamed for the incident.

“While we need to take a moment to extend our sympathies to the families of those who died, we cannot allow the hard left to do what it tried to do in 1995 after the Oklahoma City bombing,” he said.

Debbi Dooley, a national coordinator for Tea Party Patriots, echoed a similar sentiment to Congress.org. “A lot of people have bets on how long it will take before they blame this on the tea party and that’s absolutely ridiculous,” she said. Her group condemned the attack via Facebook.

“This heinous act will change the interaction between elected officials and their constituents,” the group’s Facebook wall said. “People also pray for the safety of congressmen, senators, President Obama and other elected officials in the aftermath of this shooting.”

Phillips and Dooley were right.

“Some prominent liberal bloggers wasted little time before politicizing the horrific and tragic shooting of a congresswoman in Arizona on Saturday,” Politics Daily’s Matt Lewis writes.

For example, Markos Moulitsas, founder of the liberal website DailyKos, sent numerous tweets chiding Palin and the right for the attack:

NOTE- This tweet is more evidence that liberals like Moulitsas have a severe mental disorder. If anything, Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords is despised by far-left progressive liberals like Moulitsas, and liked by conservatives. She's one of the very few good democrats left in congress. The entire party has been hijacked and destroyed by progressives, communist members, Marxists and admitted socialists. Gabrielle Giffords is the LAST democrat in congress who conservatives or the tea party would have a problem with and it's going to be disgraceful to watch the liberal media lie and politicize this tragedy.

It doesn't matter what this lunatics political beliefs were or what gun laws are on the books in Arizona, it's the shooter and ONLY the shooter is to blame for this tragedy. Look for the left wing JACKASSES in the media to ignore the fact that the shooter himself is a leftist, and try to blame the tea party and republicans for this tragedy, hoping their ignorant 'sheep' viewers actually believe them. Those viewers would be called 'progressives,' the people who are ruining America themselves.

Unfortunately we already have scumbags like Keith Olbermann, the entire CNN network, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and David Gregory from 'Meet the Libs' already fabricating the reason for the shooting.

  1. Holocost shooter, lib professor shooter, Major Hassan, Army recruiter, IRS plane attack by Bush hater, and now this, all committed by left wingers. They sure as hell weren't tea partiers. I hate the media.

  2. Looks like the Pima County Arizona Sheriff news conference is saying that TV News etc is to blame and that bias is a problem? Did not I read on this site that a tragedy was needed to help Obama? Maybe paranoid here but when is a news conference used to make statements about the country and its people especially Arizona?

  3. I think Pelosi/Obama fueled this kind of attack by
refering to anyone that disagrees with them as, "the Enemy" McCaskill aide: Tea Parties kind of remind me of Nazi brownshirts | Nancy Pelosi: the Tea Party Protesters are like Nazis: They're carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on healthcare.(all of which were untrue). The truth is, this type of vile and racial statements, slurs, and lies all seem to originate from the left, but are quickly spun as to demonize the right. This is a case like so many as anonymous above said "Of one of their own" that went berserk. The Leftist State Media (alphabet networks) will distance themselves from this nutjob, but not before they can get some milage from him. This is the kind of lunatic the left attracts and keeps at the rear of their ranks.

  4. Does it really matter whether the killer was a Democrat or Republican? I am quite sure that the mother of that 9 yr old girl is not wondering what party he belonged too. Or the family of the judge. Or the other dead and critically wounded. What matters is that we have become a nation of no compassion,or hate,of self interests and nothing more. We need not worry about the terrorist from outside our borders,we are destroying ourselves quite nicely. The issue of why this killer was issued a gun while having a criminal record and history of mental illness should be addressed and rapidly. The media and its ilk would do much better just reporting the news and not adding its conjecture to the mix. This is a tragedy on so many levels, yet so many in here would rather cast hatred and bile than to show respect and compassion to those who died and are injured.

  5. Remember this statement?
In an interview with his home state’s public radio Thursday, Minnesota’s Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison suggested that Democratic lawmakers “need to create a real crisis” to force Republicans to renegotiate President Obama’s tax cut compromise.

  6. If this poor woman's tragedy, and all who died there should mean anything, I think it should mean we should keep a civil tongue in our head. Don't like talk radio, turn it off. If you're at a public meeting where elected officials are being talked about in ways that are vitriolic and hateful, walk out. We're all Americans, people. Let's be decent. This is not a partisan thing. There are people who run this site, or frequent this site in law enforcement. They see the end result of anger and vengeance.

  7. I saw the 'twitter' that he was fanatic about the 2012 prophecy. Amazingly, I saw that on NEWSVINE, AND ON FOXNEWS (hating on it) only it had Sarah Palin's name before it. This poster had said that a person who was quite good friends with the shooter, but had not seen him in person,SINCE 2007 (NOTE THE YEAR, 2007) that JARED WAS A TEA PARTY FANATIC, DEVOTE FOLLOWER OF SARAH PALIN AND BELIEVED THE SARAH PALIN 2012 PROPHECY. All the other haters were like, like like like, then I was, uhm... Tea Party wasn't AROUND IN 2007, Very few people heard of Palin in 2007, much less the thought of her running in 2012, SINCE SHE WAS NOT A CANDIDATE IN 2007. all this hate is disgusting, such a waste of time. Jared, whatever his name is, did follow the congresswoman from at least 2007, at least. He had alcohol poisoning and THAT SEEMED TO BE THE START OF HIS DECLINE, but who knows, he might have been holding off demons for a while. But this finger pointing, is juvenile, and is just promoting more violence. The whole thought, that people can be 'influenced' by Beck, O'Reilly, Palin to commit violence is moronic. The people spewing this garbage obviously does not watch the people they lie about. and If a person can be influenceD by someone on tv to commit violence, then they lost all rights to be walking free in this society. As Jared should have. We do not know why he did it, might never know why. He seemed to read a lot of questionable literature, was an atheist, seemed to be in a number of groups. By themselves, some are not bad, or not too bad, but added up, if anyone knew of this, and did not try to see he got help, ????? I am hoping they tried and failed instead of going 'oh well, he will outgrow this.'
